I created these sculptures during the one hour of outdoor exercise allowed during stage 4 lock-down in Melbourne. I picked basket grass lomandra longifolia from riverside vegetation near Yarra Bend to weave with.

The tightly knotted abstract shapes are the product of mental & emotional stresses in lock-down life. Covid-19 restrictions closed studio spaces. As a result my creative expression was stifled. I shut down after everything transitioned online. Sculpting a living tactile material was the only satisfying artistic expression.
